At The Athlete Lab, we specialize in the combat athlete (those training BJJ/MMA, combative training or defensive tactics training).  As such, we have developed a lot of great resources for the combat athlete and affiliated BJJ gyms.  The majority of these resources are free to athletes and gyms who become affiliated by registering for our Free monthly newsletter.  Below are just some of the perks but being an Athlete Lab affiliate.

The Athlete Lab Warrior Program

Dr. Nessler has created a series of exercises designed to assist those doing combative training or BJJ to improve the mobility and strength that they need for their sport.  This will address some of the most common mobility issues we see that often contributes to the injuries we see.  These short video clips are designed to take 5-10 min and which can be done prior to training BJJ.

Management of the Acute BJJ Injury

All too often, we suffer an injury on the mat during training or competition and aren’t quite sure what we should do.  For gyms, this can lead to students taking time off and not coming back.  This is a lost student and has a financial impact to the gym.  In some cases, the student does nothing about, keeps training and makes this a much more severe injury requiring medical intervention.  This keeps the student off the mat and can impact their ability to return to sport.  This injury management protocol is for students and gym owners looking to educate their students on how to manage injuries when can or when to seek medical intervention.
