ACL Resources

The Athlete Lab founder, Dr. Trent Nessler, developed a passion for trying to help athletes reduce risk for ACL injuries after becoming frustrated with the current methods for assessing risk and addressing with programming.   After 25 years of work and assessing movement on 90,000+ sport and tactical athletes, Dr. Nessler has developed a very effective methodology for preventing ACL injuries and reducing risk for reinjury for those returning to sport following surgery.  Here you will find various programs and education related to the ACL prevention.

Dr. Nessler's Education Series

ACL Safe & Strong YouTube

Out of a desire to impact the epidemic rate of ACL injuries in youth sports, Dr. Nessler created the ACL Safe & Strong.  Initially developed as ACL Play It Safe program, this program has been used by 10,000+ athletes across the US and has been shown to reduce not only ACL injuries but all lower limb injuries.  When this program is done at the end of practice, it will result in not only an impact on injuries but will also drive power output and improved performance enhancement.

ACL Return to Sport

One of the hardest decisions to make for an ACL injured athlete is when is it safe to return to sport.  In this presentation, Dr. Nessler shares with NFL and collegiate athletic trainers what the current research is, what mass data is teaching us and how to make safer more informed decisions for return to sport.

ViMove+ AMI (Athletic Movement Index)

Developed by the founder of The Athlete Lab, Dr. Trent Nessler, the ViMove+ AMI has revolutionized how we assess athlete’s movement for risk and performance enhancement issues.  Since its initial release, the ViMove+ AMI is now used in 5 different countries and has been used to assess 90,000+ sport and tactical athletes.  Used in professional sports, military applications and in first responders, the data collected from the ViMove+ AMI has changed how we think about athletic movement and how we train to improve.  This series of videos, interviews and webinars, Dr. Nessler talks about the ViMove+ AMI and what he has learned from it.
