The Athlete Lab – A Case Study

June 25, 202447 second read

We are often asked why assessing movement is so important. As a sports biomechanist, Dr. Nessler knows how an athlete moves not only will tell you a lot about what injuries they are at risk for but also where there are opportunities to improve performance. Based on muscle origin and insertion, it also tells us what muscles we should be targeting to improve the movements we see. With improvement in movement comes, improved efficiency and power (performance) and better force absorption (injury mitigation). This case study highlights that.

This young female softball player was ready to give up her season. After a through assessment with The Athlete Lab, she was not only put on a program that resolved her pain but also allowed her to play at a higher level for an entire season. If you would like a copy of this full case study, please email info@theathletelab.org. Please put Athlete Case Study in the title.
