Peptide Services

Dr. Nessler Talks Biohacking On The Expect More Podcast W/ Dr. Andrea Davis

At The Athlete Lab, we often refer to our space as “The Lab”.  Aside from being a concierge sports physical therapy practice, The Athlete Lab is also a functioning research lab.  Our facility is actively participates in both national and international research projects.  As such, we often exposed to research, technologies and approaches prior to mainstream health care and physical therapy practices.  This allows us the ability to evaluate these products and approaches and be on the cutting edge of how to best implement for optimal results.  As such, The Athlete Lab is participating in a national research project looking at the impact of peptides (short chain amino acids) and their impact on musculoskeletal injuries and athletic performance.

These short chain amino acids (peptides) have been used in nutrition for decades.  The benefits have been well documented on the impact on soft tissue healing.  Many of us use a collagen peptide in our protein to boost soft tissue and ligamentous repair.  When processed through the stomach, many of these long chain amino acids are denatured by the acid in stomach which deactivates them.  Current research has shown the impact that they have on soft tissue injuries when injected subcutaneously.  This leads to a natural way to accelerate soft tissue healing after an injury.

As a result, The Athlete Lab is participating in an IRB sanctioned, national research project looking at the impact of peptides on soft tissue injuries and athletic recovery.

Peptides offered:

  • Enhanced Recovery – BPC 157 & TB 500 – these peptides that enhance healing after an injury and accelerate recovery. They are used together to enhance tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and improve overall recovery from injuries.
  • Anti-aging and Improved Performance – CJC 1295 & Ipamorlin -these peptides lead to a greater increase in growth hormone release in the body and enhance cell wall integrity and regeneration. This results in increased muscle mass, strength, improved fat loss, enhanced recovery, repair, better sleep quality,& improved cognitive function.
  • Enhanced Energy – NAD+ & DSIP -this combination has a multitude of health benefits including: improved metabolism, improved cellular repair, improved athletic performance & recovery, improved cardiovascular health & mitigates risk for cognitive related disorders.
  • Gut Health – Oral BPC 157 – BPC 157 helps repair & regenerate the gut lining and helps with ulcers, leaky gut, and gut related disorders. It has an anti- inflammatory effects in the gut, which aids with systemic inflammation and post surgical inflammation.

WHAT ARE PEPTIDES?

Peptide therapy involves using short chain amino acids (peptides) to stimulate various biological processes in the body. It’s a form of treatment that aims to restore or enhance the body’s natural functions by introducing naturally occurring peptides.

ARE PEPTIDES SAFE?

When prescribed and monitored by a qualified healthcare professional, peptide therapy is considered safe.

WHAT ARE PEPTIDES USED FOR?

Peptides can significantly aid in recovery after injuries or intense training by promoting tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and enhancing the body’s natural healing processes.

Many of the technologies we use today (blood flow restriction, red light therapy) have some impact on our internal chemistry.  For example, BFR results in huge systemic releases of growth hormone and insulin growth factor-1. and redlight therapy has an impact on the rate at which protein synthesis occurs in the mitochondria.  This is just one reason these techniques are so impactful to your recovery.  When you further enhance the chemical environment with naturally occurring short chain amino acids, then the impact to soft tissue healing is exponentially greater.  When Peptides are combined with a comprehensive approach, including physical therapy, BFR, class IV laser, cold plunges and red light therapy, the other recovery technologies, this can have an exponential impact on healing time, overall outcome and current and future athletic performance.

Results, speak for themselves.  Hear from our athletes (below) and how this has impacted their lives.

Research Disclosure: As a part of our commitment to advancement of sports medicine, physical therapy and how we treat, manage and prevent sports injuries, The Athlete Lab actively participates in national and international research projects. The offering of peptide services is a part of a national research project that The Athlete Lab is participating in. This study is looking at the impact that peptides have in the management and prevention of sports injuries and on improving the general health of athletes. This project falls under an IRB (institutional review board) and all participants are asked to participate in a short questionaire at the initiation of their peptide treatment, at half way point and at the conclusion. All protocols are provided by a physician under the guidance of the IRB.
